Hi , Today our check engine light came on (again) . Auto zone said code was " vacume leak" . When opening the hood , We could hear a hssssing noise (U know like air being pulled though small hole ). But after following/checking all hoses for leak we could not find ANYTHING ! Anybody had this dilemma B4 ? My neighbor ( his is auto mech.) Said to " check EGR devise ? any opinions ? Help . JIM

If you hear the hissing noise then just keep looking! It will be there somewhere!

Take a length of hose put to your ear and probe around everything from the throttle plate to the block. and listen 'till it gets loudest. could e a gasket. could be a hose anywhere from the brake master cylender to the evap system to the heater controlls under the dash. follow the sound. You can also apply propane/ any flamable gas and when put near the leak your idle will jump. be carefull.  cheers   NMc
