Factory Rear Overload Spring Flip???
« on: April 28, 2007, 02:53:26 PM »
Hey all,
I've been in "lurk" mode for a while on this forum, and finally decided to ask a question!
I have an '88 Suzuki Samurai, all stock for the time being. Has anyone ever flipped the rear overload springs over to lift the rear(to save money instead of getting a set of add-a-leafs)? I was thinking of also adding a set to the front. I know that they would have to be cut-down/played with a little for it to work...

This is lost, all you need to do is grind off the bolts (spring pack and the little c shaped bracket) flip the helper, and the c shaped thing and replace the two bolts, you may have to place all the leafs in a vice so they will stay compressed long enough to get the bolts in, ive done this on the rear to prevent axle wrap, and then i put a set of rear springs on the front of my sami and did the same to them. any q's just ask sorry it took so long to get back to you i thought the post was on zuktah's forum.

Sounds simple enough. Did you end up getting much lift out of it?
Thanks!
