Samurai or a Sidekick/Tracker
« on: January 28, 2007, 08:32:26 AM »
I picked up a 96 Tracker in December with the intentions of changing it over for use both offroad and onroad. I haven't started any of the work on the Tracker yet.

I have a good chance to get my hands on a pretty decent 90 Samurai that I can do the same thing with.

When I started down this road I wanted Sami, but couldn't find any that fit the bill. Well as luck would have it I bought a Tracker and now I can get ahold of a good Sami.

Should I stick with the Tracker or sell it and work with the Sami? Which one offers more parts availability, better aftermarket parts, etc?

This won't be a daily driver, it will be used more for hunting, fishing, camping.

Any thoughts would be great!!

Keep whichever one YOU like.

They are both ultra capable, cheap to fix up, cheap to own.

You can make either of them virtually unstoppable for peanuts.

Make sure you drive them both around, and see which one "fits" you better!

We have had these threads before,  and after everyone telling weaknesses and strengths, we usually boil it down to:

Get whichever one YOU like better, cause they are BOTH great off road vehicles.

I looked at both, I went tracker since I thought the 1.6 16v  would do much better on the Highway. I have to drive 50 miles at least to get out of the city. I liked a few more amenities also. Mine's a daily driver also.
