Calmini 2.5" lift is on with pics..
« on: September 16, 2006, 06:38:51 AM »
Well I installed the Calmini 2.5" lift last night. All went pretty good, only broke the front two a-arm bolts taking them off. A quick run to Home Depot for new bolts and locknuts and I was back at it. The kit is pretty good, nice parts and a pretty easy install. It took me about 6 hours with the run to Home Depot from start to finish. Not to bad for a lift kit, in my opinion. I do have some camber issues as others have had, I am bringing it in for an alignment this afternoon so all should be well after that.
Anyway, to the pics....

Looks good.  How'd you manage to break the bolts?  I could barely get those loose.  Took a breaker bar and me pushing down on it with my foot each time.

You might need some camber bolts.

I broke the bolts because they were stuck (rusted) in the bushings. I couldn't get them to budge so I used a breaker bar and a cheater bar about 2 feet long.. lol  Snapped the heads off and then used a sawzall to cut the other side off.
  The engine is a 2.0 4cyl..

its rare to see a gv softtop and when you do thay are 1.6L, i hope the 06 grand comes in a softtop, the hard top is still 1.6 and has no low range.

fordy1, I dunno about in Oz but here in the States the '07s are getting transfer cases with 4 low as an option in all trim/options levels.  No 2 doors though.  MAYBE you guys will see 4 low in all of your levels as well, 2 doors too?
