This is my 1st post here,(hi, hello, thank you, thank you) I done some searches on the subject but not quite anwsered. I just aquired a 93 4dr kick totally stock and unmolested very nice condition. I trek through AZ  remote desert fire roads so I don't need any extream lift or performance mods, I was wanting to put 235's on the stock rims, maybe new rims, not sure, will they be ok on stock rims with no lift? I will be adding coil spacers ASAP also, but kinda want to get better tires on right away.

I would definatly go with 235's on the stock rims.  I've been running that size for 2 years with no issues.  I'm running mud terrain retreads by high-tec retreads.  They are loud as heck but work great and are really cheap. 

I got my BFG's at pretty much the same time as Keith.  I highly recomend 235's.  Mine were on stock wheels till just last week the only noticable difference is you may lose just a tiny sliver of power, nothing to worry about you'll still do fine at highway speeds.

Plus they just look so much more beefy....

Ditto on the 235's. I used to have them on the turtle, before I got the 31 ltb's..

These are Maxxis Buckshot Mudders on factory alloys, no lift at all.. it was great, even with open diffs... I don't drive this one on the road anymore, so I went to the LTB in 31x11.50


BUT, on my newer Kick, I will probably stick with 235's for DD and some trails...

i don't know how you guys wheel with 235's stock.  I have a 3" bodylift and 235's and my tires rub my fenders in the rear at full articulation.

wow, that's weird, I get plenty of rub with my 31's and 2" suspension and trim, but that is only at full articulation, I didn't get much if any rub in the rear with the 235's, but I did get some in the front, until I got my 2" suspension lift..


Are your springs saggy Tyson?  Maybe you have an especially tall 235?

   Are you running the stock wheels?  I imagine they allow the rear wheel to fit inside the fender when flexing.  I couldn't run 235 MTs on my 95 with different wheels/backspacing.  Running 235s with less agressive tread now just fine.  Tire and wheel combo makes a lot of difference.

Thanks for all the replys, sounds like good news, Now I have to deside weather to buy new wheels just to spiffy it up a little, I would just get them in stock spec.

Thanks Samuraiguy but I need an all arounder tire, The desert floor here in Az is hard and dry, even when it rains here it dries fast, I like to park and walk deep into the wilderness and poke around on foot, shoot stuff and stuff.

i had 235/75R15 General tires on 15x7 american racing wheels on my last kick, and they only slightly rubbed on the front at full articulation, and i loved them. they looked so much better than the stock tires and rims, but my 31's on mickey thompson classic II rims look even better.

Hi Dieselweasel.  I have the 235's in Futura Adventures (PepBoys).  They were new on the Kick (91 2 Door JX 4X4) when I bought it from the previous owner.  I recently replaced the spare with the same tire and I think they were around $100.  I am very happy with the all around performance of the tire.  I have a home in Sedona and was Elk hunting in 6B off the 89A south of Flaglast November.  I had no problem getting around.  Two years ago it was so bad up there they closed the park for 5 months.  There were alot of people up there for the Elk hunt that year that got stuck and had to wait until spring to get there vehicle out.  My friend (Toyota 4 runner) was one of them.  I prefer not to hear the noise going down the freeway as I use mine as an all around vehicle.  Good luck and I just might see you on the forest service roads.

One other thing.  I cleaned up my stock rims and painted them flat balck and they look good against the white paint.  Take care.

I been knockin around horse shoe lake, barlett lake and seven springs area, lots of indian ruins hiding in those areas, fun to locate. I'll be lookin for ya Zbad.

I notice you mention "LT" tires.  That generally means load range C.  That is what I found best for running Arizona backroads with my previous 4x4s, two Toyotas and a couple of Scouts.  The tires on my Suzuki are standard passenger tires (load range B).  I am thinking that the Suzuki is light enough that it does not require the stouter tire.  Time will tell.

I agree with you, I listed LT just incase I found a bargain I'd know they would fit, I'll probly buy car tires, but I do beleive a tracker may weigh as much as a jeep? I had a Sammy for 3 yrs and never had a tire problem, but I did mention I don't go extream 4 wheeling, but I do manage to find some very rocky trails at times and I'm a little concerned about sidewall punctures out in the wilderness, Then again, wallyworld gives a full hasard warrenty, So I think I'll go with the el cheapos and make sure my spare is good to go. I also carry a 12 volt compressor and a plug kit.
