Hey this might sound Dumb But I know Escudo are the same thing as sidekicks, but they have a option for a v6 in there sport like model. Here is my question. Can you get Escudo in the united states with a left hand drive? Cause the only thing i can think of better then my 4 cylinder is a 2.0 v6.

On my vacation, we had a port call at the british west indies (tortola). So many zuks it was scary (easily half the vehicles were zuks). The couple of escudo's I saw I wished I could take one home :)  ... and yes, escudos are LHD (or RHD) ... none in US :(

V6 never made it to the US, couldn’t pass the emissions tests.

I did some looking on ebay on found the 2.0 v6 from a escudo for sale, and the all wheel drive tranmission. I wonder how easy that would bolt up? The vaction surrounded with zuks sounds like a good dream. I wonder if someone would import a escudo v6?

From what I've seen and read the 2.0V6 engine was fitted in the non-US version of the Sidekick Sport. The frame rails are wider so its not a direct bolt in but I have seen one fitted in an earlier Track/Kick. I think its a detuned Mazda engine. The transmission is the same but you would probably need the V6 bellhousing

It would be no problem since i have sidekick sport with the 1.8. I imagine i would need the ecm and wireing harness to.

So after much searching. I found the Suzuki Escudo is only rated at 102.97 nm with equals 138 hp so its only a 18 hp increase from a 1.8 its torque is not much bigger either. Plus its rated at lower gas milege, but then on 18 hp could be a big difference in power in a kick. Has any one ever got to drive both a 1.8 kick and 2.0 Escudo to compare? ???

Didnt the v6 2.0 have a hyd clutch rather than a cable, i know the v6 2.5 has as i often dream.  I also think the t/ case is slightly different so maybe an adapter plate to house the stock transmission would be the way forward,

The 2.0 v6 does have a hyd clutch. So does the sidekick sport 1.8 and they share the same wide frame and tranmission and t case
