down for the count
« on: April 23, 2006, 06:14:44 PM »
:( Well, I 'managed to get 15 of the 16 valve guide seals installed on my head before I finally lost one of the keepers. spent almost 2 hours scouring the head and surrounding areas with lights, mirrors and magnets to no avail. I did have all the oil return holes in the head blocked so none would fall down in there but the damn thing just disapeared. Anyone know where they can be purchased? I have a feeling my local Suzuki dealer isn't going to be much help. Used would be fine if anyone has any. Any help greatly appreaciated. Thanks.

You only lost one, good job, I lost at least 3, but I
had a spare head to scavenge parts from, where
do you live ? I'll send you one.

Hey Wild, just out of curiosity did you ever find the keepers you lost? I'm near 100% sure their not in the head, and could be anywhere. But what really gets me is that I had sealed off the open head from the rest of the engine bay with masking tape and brown painters paper just like a surgeon would do before an operation. I was trying real hard to not lose any parts. That worked out well! haha.

I really only lost 1, the other two disapeared
after I got them off and the parts sat around
for a few months.  The one that flew after the
spring snapped back into place was never found,
I heard it hit the concrete, but I never could find it
