Caught this at another forum.  It has a glimpse of part of the new XL-7 front end.

Just remember everybody, it's an Equinox based vehicle (according to my dealer) with Suzuki mechanicals & styling. It'll probably be a great vehicle for the city and gravel roads, but a little dissapointing for most of us...

I hadn't heard it would be based on the Equinox, but that does make some sense, as the Equinox is built in Ontario.  I don't know a lot about the Equinox, but it has a lot in common with the Saturn Vue, which is a collosal piece of cr|removethispart|@p.  (my brother bought a Vue last year, and has been trying to get rid of it ever since).  This would be disappointing for Suzuki.

On a somewhat related note, has anyone noticed how much the new stretched RAV4 looks like the current XL-7?

The new Grand Vitara is loosely based on the Equinox, in that it uses the "Theta" platform that the 'Nox, Torrent and VUE share.

The new XL-7 is a stretched Theta platform, with a new 3.6 V6 and a "4GO" AWD similar to the SX4.

In both cases Suzuki used the platform as a starting point and added a bunch of their own engineering.
