Just received this....

I am Mr. Ibrahim Baaji (SAN) - an attorney of the Supreme Court of
Nigeria. I am the personal attorney to Mr. Allen Zook, a national of United
States, etc etc etc give me your bank account number bla blah blah

Does anyone know Mr Zook? He must surely get on this site LOL ;D ;D ;D

These scams have been going on for many years. There was a feature on one of the news programmes a while ago. They had a cupboard full of letters, mainly from pre-email days. Apparently the average amount that people had been taken for was £20K - Average  :o just how much must some people have been taken for? A couple of months ago there was a piece in one of the newspapers about a vicar who had received one of these emails. he told them he would like to help out but couldn't because they didn't belong to his (completely invented) rather obscure church. He got them to do all sorts of things to prove that they had joined his faith in a long correspondence. Eventually he actually got them to send him £50 to transfer the funds! Sadly there was some problem with the following transfer of money to Nigeria ;)
