I was just wondering if there is something wrong with the dome light on my 96 tracker. The dome light comes on fine when you move the switch to the side position, but doesnt work like most dome lights, ie turning on when one of the doors is opened. I tried both the other switch positions, and it didnt make a difference. So now I looked at the doors and didnt see any button switches to tell if the door is open, which leaves me a bit confused. Could they possibly have been that cheap they couldnt do the dome light like 99% of the other cars on the road?

I am 99.3% positive its the little switches that trigger the dome light.  Check the push switches in the door (the little rubber covered thingy, Im sure you know where it is )  Chances are it got corroded and doesnt make a solid enough connection to trigger the dome light.

Same thing is happening to my drivers door.  I cleaned off the stich and it worked for a while.  Recently, I think its corroded again because its stopped working.  Im learning to live with it
