I can't understand japanese, but more or less you get the idea. I think it doens't have a solid rear axle, and it's got permanent 4x4 transmission. So it's got a central diff, LSD type (not that good  :-/)
I don't think it will be very good offroad...

It saddens me to see that slowly but surely all of the offroad manufacturers are abandoning credible four wheel drives to build these soft roaders. Pity, Suzuki always had a fantastic reputation for solid, reliable and capable vehicles. times change I guess.  :(

According to the latest issue of Four Wheeler there is a new Suzuki 4x4 coming out that will be a Grand Vitara replacement and have low range and a V6.  All they had was an artists drawing and this thing isn't it.

There drawing is wrong, this is it and it does have lo-range, a V6 and the engine tranny is mounted correctly.

IFS and IRS with a frame built into the body. Permanent 4wd with a center diff lock and dash control for the t-case with a touch deeper low range. XL-7 engine, 5spd auto, diff ratio and weight but a little wider and shorter. 28.5" rubber.

It's great to see suzuki sticking with low range transfer case etc, but the IFS and IRS worry me. only so much wheel travel to be gained with these units. I hope we aren't beginning to see the end of the demise of Grand Vitara's as credible off roaders.  :-/

I'll wait and see.  My guess is that there will be this thing we see here and something else.  Most makers are doing that now, a cute ute and something bigger.  One of the specifics mentioned in the Four Wheeler article was a ladder frame.

Suzuki has showed the Concept X and the Concept X2. We have now seen the production version of one released as the new Escudo. The other is a bigger vehicle using a version of the new GM V6 Global Engine of over 3 litres. Just have to wait and see. I have also heard that there will be a replacement for the Jimny but one source seems to think it will an even lesser 4x4 but I hope not.

There is an 8 page article on jeepnation.net:

http://4x4singapore.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=245&Itemid=2

They used to link to a (confidential??) Suzuki brochure in pdf-format. I guess Suzuki didn't like that. The link has been removed now. As far as I can see, most of the articles text is copied from that brochure.

Why don't they make something to directly compete with the Wrangler, something a lot more jeepy, like the samurai?
