It has been a while since I put octane booster or premium gass in my truck. Thus, I assume I got some build up on the fuel injectors. I keep running into this product called sea foam. It is a protrolium product so I can see adding it into the oil or gass. Not to much ofcourse. Then one was saying something about getting it dirrectly into the cylinders. Through a pcv value if you have injectors? Any ideas? I'm getting ready to go on a trip and would like to run something through before going off in a week.

I guess your talking about outboard tuner,you need to remove the tube containing the mass airflow sensor and squirt it straight  down the throttle body.Done it once but I'm not really convined it's any better than a tank of premium and a blast down the hwy.

GREAT STUFF!!! Follow the directions, and do it OUTSIDE! (preferably with a breeze!) It STINKS when it burns!

Used a can of it through the carb on my old Fiesta. Made a world of difference, as there must've been a ton of buildup.

But yeah, through some sort of vaccuum line on a fuel-injected engine... brake booster or whatnot.

I use it religiously, fixes MANY problems, especially on high mileage cars. I usually feed it through the brake boster or PCV vaccum line. But it can be added to a full gas tank or poured in the crank case too. Try and use it right before an oil change, so all the debries freed by the product will be taken away. And as mentionned before, seriously, use it outside, major fumes warning if used as recomended.

I usually buy older cars, and the first thing I do when I buy is treat it with seafoam ( a buddy of mine who works at a suzuki / jeep dealer says its the best way to keep the engine clean inside.  Brake booster is the easiest way to get it in there & make sure you aren't in a hurry & follow the directions exactly.   Make sure you don't breathe in any of the HUGE cloud of smoke that it creates when you start the engine again after initial treatment (see instructions)

Be carefull with your cataletic converter if you think you have alot of carbon built up.

Used it for the first time two weeks ago. Samuari was running tired, the idle had gotten stumbly, and I had a week left till I had to pass emissions.  

Awesome clouds of exhaust blew thru the neighborhood.

Started running a lot better too. Ran some techron thru the gas tank, replaced the plugs, and now it does not need a tail wind to run 5th gear.

Passed emissions no problem.

I've used it 2 sammies and a civic with good results!

so wear do you get this stuff?

parts america or they have a web site they also have other products . i bought my carb used and it sat for about a year it was all gumed up . and i dumped a full can in a half tank of gas it smoked for a little while but cleaned inside of carb real good i would say use it could'nt hurt . but it mightl make you're motor smoke a little till it's gone

Auto Zone seems to be the only place that carries Sea Foam in southern New Mexico.

I put a factory rebuilt Corolla carb that had been sitting on someone's shelf for 15 years (it was rebuilt in July 1990),  on my Samurai. At first it ran fine, then gradually began to idle slower and slower. Finally wouldn't idle at all. I poured Sea Foam through the carb throat and that helped some. Then I managed to introduce two or three ounces directly into the float chamber through the big hose that goes from the carb to the charcoal canister with the help of a funnel while the engine was running . Bingo! That took care of whatever had been causing the problem immediately.

I just bought another Sami that had been poorly maintained and had been sitting for several months. Used the same procedure on it, but had to use the vent tube to get it into the float chamber on the stock carb. Same thing, instant improvement.

Put a half can of Sea Foam in each full tank  of gas as added insurance.  I'm well sold on the stuff.
