indestructable T-case bushings?
« on: November 17, 2003, 02:42:12 AM »
Anybody ever use those indestructable T-case bushings? I ordered them about a month ago from rockyroad or roadlessgear, i forget which one. Anyway, I put them in, and within 4 weeks, I destroyed them. Im sure it has to do with the fact of having more torque due to a bigger motor, and im not downing the product or anything. Just looking for a stronger alternative to use... Right now I am using sway bar bushings from an 86 Ford Econoline Cargo Van. They seem to have been working fine with very minimal vibration....

This was all before my rearend went to crap

are you refering to the bullet proof T case mount bushings?  I got the whole kit the mega Tcase arm  with the kung fu grip , from RRO .. Ive only had it in for a week but looks pretty sturdy to me .

Yea, thats them. The bullet proof T case mount bushings. I bought the bushings alone. But, I also dont have a suzuki 4cyl in my suzuki samurai. I was kinda looking for somehting that can handle more torque......

Howdy RockStar,

Checkout Trail Tough for a one piece tcase bucket/mounting arm/skid plate they call "Mighty-Kong". You will be impressed.  As far as the bushings go, they recommend stock rubber, but that's assuming you are running some kind of a Zuk engine.  Their comment is somethings gotta give under the added torque. With those stiff bushings the next weakest parts are the mounting tabs on the frame (they've had them torn off the frame). Makes sense to me, so that's the setup I've got.
