I'm thinking about getting a wooden steering wheel. not Moma but a knock off. What type of universal adapter would I need?

One that fits both the vehicle AND the wheel.

Seriously - that is about as much assistance as we can provide based on what you've given us to work with - most of the wheels out there use a six bolt hub, some use a five bolt, others use a three bolt - and you haven't told us what vehicle you plan to fit it to.

One more thing, I would strongly suggest that you do NOT get a cheap wood rim steering wheel, if you're ever in an accident you can expect them to splinter, snap & stab you.

Sorry, 1995 Suzuki Tracker. How would I tell a good wheel from a bad one?

Let me answer your question this way - I wouldn't put a wood rimmed steering wheel in anything I own - I'm currently running a leather rimmed Momo (not a cheap knockoff) in my Grand Vitara.

And one more thing, if that 95 Sidekick is air bag equipped, just forget about it.

Well, I dont plan on wrecking. Momo is pricey. Should I use a 6 bolt, 5 bolt, 4 bolt adapter if I decide to go with Momo if my Bitcoin pans out?

I don't think anyone plans on wrecking, but when/if the unplanned for event should happen, the airbag might just be what saves your life.

All the Momo wheels I've looked at use a six hole hub and if/when you start looking for a hub to fit your vehicle, if it is air bag equipped, you won't find a part number listed for the necessary hub.
