sj410 oil pan bolt hole stripped
« on: September 28, 2023, 04:45:55 PM »
i changed my oil pan gasket at the beginning of summer and still had a bit of a leak so i got under and re torqued the oil pan bolts to 8 foot pounds which i found on a chart online. all of the bolts retorqued fine however one of the bolts where the engine mates the transmission behind the small sheetmetal cover is not torqing up and i believe is stripped. has anyone had this problem? im assuming i will need to put a helicoil in? or is there another way to repair?
 thanks

A helicoil is what I would consider an easy repair - and by the way, Suzuki doesn't use oil pan gaskets, just RTV sealant.

This is a good idea.
