Early v6 h25a vs 2001+ h25a?

Whats the difference between the earlier v6 h25a and the 2001+?

Says the 96-00 is rated 142hp
But the 01+ is rated at 157hp

Did they change anything like exhaust manifold or is the ecu different?

Has to be a computer change, all I can find is similar to what you did.  That an update changed things...
