Crap removal from hood vent and heater -- and prevention
« on: December 08, 2020, 02:33:39 PM »
This picture says it all. I have to park under salt cedar trees and between the crap these trees shed and the bird crap I have a mess.
I am cleaning out the heater and all the crap gets in through this vent on the hood. (See photo)
The only way I can see to clean out the hood vent is to blow it out.
Has anyone ever dealt with a problem like this? Maybe covered this vent to prevent crap from getting in?

I worked a piece of screen under the metal slits. It has worked. I also thought about a piece of magnetic sheet like they used for temporary real-estate signs on cars. Slap it on when I park, remove when I drive but the screen has worked for me.
It's all about the journey, not the destination

About 8-9 years ago I pulled the dash & cleaned it all real good. New heater core...  I put screen under the vents when putting it all back together. I added this cover that I got from Low Range Off-Road & have been good to go since!
