severe hesitation
« on: January 09, 2004, 01:32:46 AM »
Anyone have a severe hesitation on their sammi?  Mine started about 2 months ago.  It always happens when I stop and then accelerate (stop sign or light).  I suspect the accelerator pump on my weber 32/36.  Seems that air is getting in that circuit, which causes a lapse in squirt when accelerating (I have cleaned that circuit and all the jets thoroughly).  I am soon to check the timing too.  I have a 1.3 engine with a weber.  There are new plugs, wires, cap and rotor.  No other engine mods.  Thanks.

Sounds like a leaking accelerator pump diaphram,
gets some air in there and spits before it squirts.
Good Luck with it    ;)

I have a factory suzuki on my SJ and the guy before made a second accel. pump diaphram made out of a tire inner tube.  I rebuilt it with the a kit from Hawk and now I out run larger mopeds.

Would you see gas leaking from it or maybe the whole might be too small?  I looked at the diaphragm and decided that it looked good  but maybe not.  Keep the ideas coming cause I'm all out of brainstorms. ???

Blockage in the passage that feeds
the Accel pump, or the 1 way valve,
read bearing with a spring, might be
out of place, rusted, stuck, broken...

Dirt blocking the squirter, you do have
a fuel filter on don't you ??? if not, dirt
could get in there.
