Front body panel swap
« on: January 09, 2004, 03:10:59 PM »
Since most of the 3rd gen. US models, ie. Vitara, XL-7, X-90, of Suzuki use basically the same mechicals, I wonder if the front body panels are swappable. For example, taking a X-90 front fenders, hood, bumper, headlights, and swapping them onto a Vitara or XL-7.

I doubt it :( I just looked at mine (X-90 and Kick) and it does not look like it would bolt on. After the snow melts off the X I will look at it closer.

I doubt that any of the panels would line up properly. The doors are shaped differently, as is the cowl. I suspect the XL7 is wider than the X90 so the hood wouldn't be wide enough leaving a nice big gap between the hood and fenders. Can it be done? Sure...but you'd best be a dern good bodyman if you want it to turn out right ;)
