body lift at autozone
« on: May 13, 2005, 08:14:11 AM »
i saw a "universal" body lift at i believe autozone, or advanced auto...  what do you all think,,,   it looked like it was just the steel square tubing and u-bolts, etc.    does one need to get new shocks and all of that for a two inch lift?         i just want it to be bigger and better, but still my road traveler, daily driver.

anything is appreciated.  (  i know you all have answered prob. a million questions on body lifts before,, ,, sorry :P)

A body lift does not require any suspension mods.  It may require extending of shifter and transfer case levers, but at 2 inches probably not.

Also 235/75/15 tires will fit fine with no body lift.

Are you gonna wheel it?

If you're lookin for "pose" ... I dunno what counts.

Ubolts may not help much.......
A made for kit will just bolt in..

The Rocky Rd or Sky Manufact kits are around $119 + S&H

I did a write up on the RockyRoad 2" body lift kit on my X (same as a tracker underneath)
with pictures if you wanna compare and see if the AutoZone kits looks useful.

my lift was for a 90 ford ranger fit right on mine i think it would work just great if its 3 inch you will need to modify the shifter doesn't take much to hold the body on so i say go for it
