Hey Guys, my rear brake proportioning valve let go,on my 1998 tracker.I've tried NAPA auto parts and afew online auto parts stores but none can get it....The valve is a type of weight sensing proportioning valve for the braking system or so I believe. Anyway I got brake fluid coming out of the top of the valve and in return nearly no brakes.Has anyone replaced this or deleted it ???And what years fit if there is a replacement part.? Gen 1 is a dead end as far as I've gone,so maybe Gen 2 will inner change. The only valve of this type I've found is from chevy 3/4 & 1 ton trucks but i not seen what it looks like. I think I'll try to delete it if I can without a major brakeline reconstruction.Any input on this would be great. Thanks

I've deleted it with no adverse effects. If you at it and visualize how it works it give you full braking unless the rear suspension unloads... To me, this is weird because the unloading would most likely be due to the brakes being applied. So it lifts, and closes the valve right?... the brake is already applied. .. I guess that if you 'pump' the brake the next applied brake would be less. ... if you're fast enough in your pump so as to not let the rear settle back down...

Your experience may differ and I'm only sharing my experience and not recommending any actions.
