O2 sensor
« on: February 06, 2016, 09:00:36 PM »
This is my first post, and I am sure it will not be my last. I recently purchased an 87 Samurai Tin Top. It has a weber  carb. on the stock engine. The O2 sensor wire has been cut  about 2 inches from where it screws into the header. The sensor light is on all the time on the dash. I have not tried to reset the switch yet. Do I need to get a new sensor to put in, or can I splice the wire? The one half of the fuse link connector which would have been on the end of the sensor wire is gone. What would you recommend?

If you're running a Weber carb, the O2 sensor is no longer used.

The original Hitachi carb was an electronic feedback carb and used the O2 sensor and a very primitive ECU to adjust the air/fuel mixture, the Weber is a conventional carb with no electronics.

Great. That is what I like to hear. That is one less problem I will have to deal with. Thanks for the info.
