i purchased a prime sidekick for next to nothing ..
has a standard 5 speed .
what I am looking to do is use it as a side by side with out spending a ton of money.
I have 31 inch tires and rims picked out
i want to use the original tires and rims to use on the hwy and regular road hunting on dirt roads.
and be able to change them out and use the 31 in to back trail in eureka Alaska.. some mud some bog lots of steep trail and a little minor rock climb.
what i need to know is what would the minimum lift kit and what other parts would i need to keep that lift tracking.
i picked out armor for it already.
so just need advise on the lift kit and aux items to make it work.

Nice find, check over everything really carefully, with such low miles for a vehicle that age I'd make sure all the fluids and rubber parts like seals and such are good. If you want it to be reliable and free of issues , keep it as close to stock as possible and only run the amount of lift you need. JMO. If your gonna abuse it in the mud anyway you could just do a " virtual " lift and cut out the fenders to fit the tires. If you really need more ground clearance look at the lifts from Kreator and Calmini. You'll spend some money but worth it for quality stuff.

the car belonged to a friends sister she took immaculate care of the tin can. has a record for every repair and nit noid thing possible for it..
the issue was her mechanic was a opportunist the clutch kept needing adjustment
found it was the linkage had broken  I put a comp clutch kit in it and took the linkage out and welded both ends and replaced the clutch cable so it works like new.
I don't plan on beating it to death  but if you look up this link http://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/trails/info/alaska_15032/map_41b4.htm you will see where I plan to use it.  it will be a hunting rig so I need actual clearance for some of the climbing that will be required to get back to where the critters are.
we did the trip this year with 4 wheelers and for us guys that was all well and good  but the wife  hmmm not so much she wants a bit more comfort.  this is a cheap way to get her out there. 

Consider an inexpensive 2" coil spacer lift along with a 2" body lift to fit the 31" tires on.  Then consider lower transfer case gears so you can pull those 31" tires packed with 40 pounds of mud on them off-road.

The inexpensive coil spacer lift is offered by Low Range Off Road.  It is a well proven and bullet proof coil spacer lift.
It comes in 1.5" and 2" sizes.  You want two of the 1.5" for the front and two of the 2" for the rear.  You would also need strut spacers or just purchase a set of their brand or Old Man Emu's longer-stroke struts.

You would also need longer rear shocks.

If you could source a set of lower diff gears, like 5.38:1 or 5.62:1 it would be more better.

You might want to fabricate or buy and install a bracket to stiffen up your pitman arm as well with the larger and heavier tires.

There are many operate under these same house rules.  We have good women for them to indulge our truck modifications.  I can't and won't complain at all.  In fact, the sanity check is useful at times.

The 2" spacer lift that nprecon mentioned is the best starting place.  You will need an additional 2" to run 31's and it will be best to add 1.25" wheel spacers to prevent frame rub.

Instead of a body lift, you can use the same spacers with different springs to clear the 31's.  That is how my rig is now.
