88 1.3 8 valve doesn't seem to be oiling cam
« on: July 18, 2015, 09:25:25 AM »
Well I just got my sammi running after 2 years of it sitting and noticed some valve lash so i warmed up the motor and adjusted the valves. Then i decided to start the motor with the valve cover off and noticed it doesnt seem to be oiling the cam in some spots. Im not sure where the oil is supplied and was wondering if the oil runs through the rockers maybe some are clogged from sitting.

Has the head been off? sometimes the head gasket is replaced the wrong way round and it blocks the oilway.

Did you fix it?
Oil flows through the rocker shafts, and then through the cam bearings, flooding everything with oil.
I dont think the head gasket is the problem. You probably have plugs of muddy oil in the shafts or the cam bearings.
