How I fixed my throttle cable
« on: September 17, 2012, 10:36:13 AM »
I see a lot of throttle cables broken right at the firewall and decided to try a fix I had been thinking about.
First I brought a piece of 3/4"nylon stock at Fastenal .

I then drilled a 1/4" hole thru the middle of it.

Then I turned it down to 1/2" about 1 1/4" long.

Split it down the middle with my little saw.

Sawed  it off about 1 1/2" long total

Sawed off the old grommet with a thin cutting wheel.

Drop a washer with a 1/2" hole and a hose clamp on the pedal end and push it all the way to the carb side

Shove the two pieces thru from the inside while someone else pushes the washer on and tightens the hose clamp and your done.
