Now that I am thinking about it, I might just get the 3" trail gear springs and possibly go RUF in the future as outlined in LRORs website,( http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/index.php/suzuki/samurai/suspension-parts/trail-gear-3-lift-leaf-springs.html )

Thats exactly what I plan on doing, the main reason being that I don't weld. I understand that lift springs ride rough but so does stock, and if I can get lift and more suspension travel I don't mind a little rough ride. I don't think you should wait to go RUF if you decide to stay spua, using the lifted short front springs would be that much harsher and not allow much more travel.

Trail gear are what I plan on using because of price and lift, lror has good things to say about them. A couple other choices would be OME, probably a better ride but less lift and Deaver springs, same lift as the TG's but better ride, problem is they cost a lot more, only available from rocky road. Some kind of steering correction would still be needed, not sure if a drop pitman arm would be enough, a half ott would still be best. I don't think theres much if any cost savings going that route, doing a RUF kit with new springs etc. could even cost more.

One setup I've seen on another forum that I really like a lot is 2.5" lifted OME YJ's spua.

Yea I don't mind a little rough ride either, I love driving my godzuki around so that probably wont bother me, I would probably  do everything at once if I can (ie. the springs, RUF, new shocks either RRs' shocks or DT3000s etc)

The lift springs I have on one of my sammies has some numbers on them I will get them posted tomorrow, the second spring on them has the military wrap on them like in the picture and I have rancho 9000 adjustable about 27" long or so (too long) going to doetsch 3000 when I switch them over to yj's , too bad your not near so oregon I would give them to you for helping me put the yj's in.

Free.99 is always a great price lol, I would be down to help for sure too

I do like ground clearance but I probably wont be doing extreme rock climbing, but I wont be just doing mild little trails either if that makes sense? Also doing it this way I shouldn't really need to worry about steering correction should I? I also want to run 30" tires and will def go TD in the future, does this all sound good?

The SPOA is gonna give more articulation just because it mounts under the spring & changes the amount of leverage that it places on the springs. The SPOA is ideal for a 31" or less tire & to fit the 31" you'll still need to trim the bumper just a bit.  As  for the steering correction... I'm not positive but even going 3" is going to change the angle of the steering link & may still give you bump steer.

this rig has four stock rear springs on it with the rear springs having an extra rear main leaf added with the eyes cut off of the ends, I run 30x9.5's on it for towing and I have three different sets of 33'' tires for it, it gets about 24'' of articulation limited only by the small shocks on it, the 30's are to small to air down but the 33's ride nice when aired down, you have to bend or hammer the body seam over flat to clear the 33's but i run them more than the 30's,just spoa with the ruff kit and a trail tough upper steering arm. which one looks more natural to you?

Man the 30s look small lol, I wanted the 30s to avoid having to get gearing done but It was something I planned  to do anyways... man 4x4 is a lot more expensive of a world than car modding lol, so many plans so little money :(

And also I didn't know you could just run all four rear springs, the front springs are not needed at all then? You can just chuck em for scrap? If that is the case then I will probably get the 3" lift springs all rears with the RUF kit, a new stabilizer and not really sure what other steering correction w/either Rocky Roads shocks or DT3000s, should be plenty good for me then.... now I just need to win the lotto and/or get a better paying job lol

I used to have money until I moved to Oregon, how you make a small fortune in southern oregon is to move here with a large one. Lol   I still have a four seat sand rail from yester year rotting out in the barn that ran eleven seconds in the quarter mile, I have way more money into it than all of my other rigs so it is all relevant to how much money you make at the time, I probably spend about 2k a year on 4x4 stuff now I just don't have the money for the traveling circus that I used to take with me when I went camping for two weeks at a time, those days are over unless I hit the lottery again! now I drive a sammie pulling a small 4'x6' home made tent trailer.
