My Samurai 1995 1.3 runs at 2000 RPM when at normal operating temperature

Although at cold start, the RPM is at 1000 and not above 2000

Sammy is stock standard

Vacuum leak? Check for cel codes?

Vacuum appears to be working fine - checked myself and had it checked by an expert

Replaced the pipes,

Emmission was quite high, carb was tuned that was resolved

High RPM issue was resolved by calibrating the Idle speed, but now - in cold weather, the Sammi wants to cut off on start up



New issue, is that there isn't any torque when slipping into 4th or 5th gear

Motor is not taking any oil 

Run a compression check/test.

had the Zuk checked out by another expert, and he confirms that the Aisan Carburetor is the cause of my Zuk running rich and erratic idling.
Also adjusted the timing to increase the power output.
Running a tad better now, but still shudders every six or seven ticks

The tests and the shudder indicates that the carb will need to be rebuilt / repaired

I will have to import the carb rebuild/repair kit - we do not get these here in Cape Town, South Africa - have tried every reputable spare and repair shop

Fellow zuk members, please point me in the direction to where I can obtain this kit please?

still searching for a Aisan Carburetor rebuild kit....

but in the meantime, I found a post that described my experiences and the bloke recommended that the water hoses must be checked.
I found that my water hoses were crusted and blocked with rust and sludge - very little water flow, the nozzles were also blocked with rust sludge - could not clean the hoses - so I replaced them with after market ones from the local spares shop and flush the cooling system and replenished it with 50/50 Evron

I am certainly receiving better performance, but it can get better with a carb rebuild.

Here are my pictures of the rust mayhem - one with the jet completely blocked and the other showing the rust/sludge that was inside the hoses...

I still think you have a vacuum leak, you just adjusted the idle down so the idle circuit is now running on the leak instead of the idle source. Car rebuild will likely help out as well, it sounds like your rig has been neglected. Should probably consider changing all the fluids and rebuilding the front end as well.

I am busy going through replacing and repairing the items slowly.

However the carb/fuelling is top priority - but I have still not been able to source a car rebuild kit from anywhere in the world.
