weber carb swap check engine light

so i just got my weber carb on and i was wondering if my check engine is going to stay on because i am no longer running the electric carb?

The easiest way to fix that problem is to remove the ECM.   It's been so long since I installed my Weber that I can't recall if the Check Engine light came on afterwards.

yes
the check engine light will stay on.
removing the ecm will kill it.
i have done this.
'89 kick w/little motor, still got pieces of jeff's pucks, stan's sticks into 4.24:1 tcase, 31x10.5x15's, rear lockrite, kick power steering, some radios(kj6esv), bmw seat, other changes just because. done on the cheap.

what about passing smog here in Oregon they check to make sure that the check engine light works I was thing about putting a diode in the alternator charging line and running a solenoid to the check engine light but i cant find a diode in the right size
