4-door Kick (On 32's not 34's) Survived Zuwharrie
« on: April 19, 2004, 02:47:08 AM »
My Kick did well, I had the upper rear axle link disconnect at the ball while in-rout on the trailer  (Rear coil installation damage).  Replaced the link the night before in camp and wheeled it hard the next day.   Only damage is bent wrinkled Front (rear) A-arm cross member and trans/ T-case cross member, Crunched rockers, drivers rear door rash, bent exhaust, rear 32" MT's missing some chunks from fender contact, and the frame is missing lots of undercoat.

BUT on the bright side, now the rear door latch is not sticking in the open position, the dome light works and the door actuator for the dome light works.   All this stuff fixed it's self while wheeling on the trail...

I hope to have some pictures and maybe video up soon.   The Kick did walk up a headlight high rocky step that some locked TJ backed away from, WHeel base, 8psi, and luck.  We got pics and got it on video.  But couldn't do it again on Sun.  I wheeled with the advanced group and took all the hard lines, I did bypass one chest high rock face but only the buggys and one or two larger sammy's were attempting it.   I made all the lines i tried until the one rocky step on Sunday by Sunday I couldn't make two of the more difficult lines, and took a 3rd but didn't have to take either of the two bypasses.   There were Just under 150 trucks at the even+ other running not with the event, so the trail changed a good bit over the course of the weekend.

The elivation on this climb is not very visiable in the pics and just above this point  there are some nice rock out croppings.  Wish I had on board video.

Here is a shot of our trial group at the end of the first trail the first day.   The kick is hiding behind the half cab zook on the left.

this is a pic of me coming up the back side of Daniel, the spot here is just between the hair pin turn and the big climb.   Major elevation change for the area we were wheeling.

I'll put up a seperate post when I get some better pic's, two of the guys are putting all the digital pictures on CD and my pictures are yet to be dropped off (disposable camera).

Great effort !! here in Aussie there are still heaps of modded Sierras compared to Vitara's and therefore they reckon all us Vitara owners are hairdresser's !! I reckon they do well and its a challenge to get the IFS working well..
