transfer case mount bushing
« on: February 27, 2012, 09:10:45 AM »
Well i ripped my transfer case mount bushings out on the first sand hill i climbed this weekend (v8 with 33"s trying to throw a rooset tail in 2 wd)

Desperate for a trail repair, i pulled my exhaust brackets off and used the rubber out of them, along with a bolt and nut to go all the way through it. the fix worked great i gave it hell all weekend and no issue. SLINGING MUD DROPPING OFF DEEP, EVEN DROPPIMG THE HAMMER IN THE PARKING LOT AFTER TOO MANY BEERS.

Just thought id share this tip with everyone just incase it happens to you..

I'm actually surprised at how well she is holding up. The bushings were original on it so they needed replacing. I machined some bushing myself today they are stout. I just ordered a set of 35x 13 tractor tires I hear my axles snapping already!!

No thank the stock bushings are no longer on my rig. Last night I just re did my whole t case support. Ran 2 cross members out of 2" c channel under the tcase and added 6 more bolt on points to it. I tested her last night in 4hi. Put the pedal to the floor and the tcase never budges

You need 1 of these! I have the 17 bolt Bare Naked snatch. No worries about ripping out the mounting blocks, bushings, or worse case scenario the case. All of which are extremely likely with your current set up.
