Sure, your new window should have a metal strip along the bottom of it. Slide the window down inside the door tracks until this metal strip rests alongside the bottom regulator lift. The regulator lift has a flat pice of metal with two holes in it that will line up with your metal window strip. Install the two screws through these holes and your window should be able to raise an lower by turning the window crank.

Hope that helps.... its pretty easy... its probally harder taking the door panel off.

I took the door panel off the inside but I still have the" door frame" does the window fit in through the top or is there something I haven't removed? What are you calling the panel?

You don't have any door panels on your Sami

My 87 has panels with about a dozen push pin style buttons that need to be removed. So does the door pull handle, and the door trip lever bezel.
It takes me longer to remove the door panel and not break any of the push pins than changing out a window.

Your new window should be slid in through the top. Start the window in from the outside in front in 1st. Holding the window with 1 hand ease it down until you can reach though the bottom to ease it into place. Line up the screw hols and screw in the 2 screws.

Not sure about the Sami, but when removing my tracker door panel it helped to take a long skinny flat head and pry out those clips from the door rather then just pulling the panel as the panel slots can tear. Also the door latch bezel had tabs slotted into the door, beware pulling them straight out or they break off, after removing the screw, slide it forward then out the slot.

Yes a long flat screwdriver is good (a couple of them. I use a crating tool. It is a two pronged tool that allow even pressure on both sides of the pins.

The door latch bezel is not an issue on a Sami.
