Bump Stops
« on: January 03, 2012, 07:52:01 AM »
Like the title says, I am looking for ideas for the front and rear. I am not finished my build yet, but I know I am going to have issues with these.  The stock ones are not going to limit the travel enough and the wheel is likely going to be making friends with the fender.   This is something I would like to avoid if possible.

Show me what you have come up with !

Cheers,
Brett

I have moved my back axle back a couple of inches, so the bump stops don't quite line up.  I am using a bump stop out of a 2006 Silverado.  When going to 33's I needed to decrease to amount of down travel to keep from riding on wheel opening, so I welded 1 1/2" angle iron across the bottom of the spring mount legs.  This limits the travel to 1 + from tire hitting.

This bump stop seems to be flexible, when Kris was bouncing on back (w/o shocks) it would come almost to fender.  There was some give to the bump stop.  It was simple to install.
