94 Geo Tracker ManualTransmission Major issues

So, I was offroading today, and got stuck. When i got stuck i accidentally grinded my reverse gear pretty hard. After it wouldn't stay in gear and kept popping out. I held it in and got out. I got out onto the road and tested it out and everything seemed alright. and reverse didn't pop out so i thought I was in the clear. Stupid as it may sound i went after the obstacle again. got stuck again and when i took it out of first gear it wouldn't go into any other gear. It wont pop into any other gear like at all. So here I am stuck in a pickle. Me nor my Dad has ever taken apart a Transmission. My dad has rebuilt motors and installed a clutch and such. I guess what i am asking is what do you think is wrong and how should i go about fixing it?

Start with the shifter sheet, which is what the stick shifter rides on
in the transmission, they wear and cause this sort of problem
