What's the real deal with lifting this rig.  I have a 94 bone stock and I would like to upgrade to 30" tires.  The way I figure it that is 4" more on the diameter (2" higher) so I think that a 2-3" lift should do the job.  I mostly drive on the street.  I was thinkning of getting the old man emu lift spring and a slightly larger shackle to get the 2". And maybe a mild 1" or so body lift. My real concern is if I add 2 - 3" of lift what other parts should I consider. 

Driveshaft spacers?
longer shocks?
Pitman Arm?

Or are these only concerns when the lift exceeds some other magic number??  Whick would be?????

A lot of you guys have tons of experience with this so help a guy out.

I have Maxxis 30x9.5x15 tires on Cragar soft 8  8" rims. I am using 1 .25' wheel spacers. My suspension is RUFF (rear springs up front). I have 2" Calamini rear springs. For the steering I do have a 3" drop pitman arm. My front and rear driveshafts have 1" spacers. brakelines were extended 3" with braided lines. Shocks are extended 3" over stock Calamini.

This sounds like alot but it really isn't. Depending on the type of driving you do you could probally grt by with less if it is mostly on the road. (shocks, brakelines, pitman arm)

Irregardless this is my set up for the tires you indicated.

I have the Calmini shackle reverse and the OME springs. Roughly 3 1/2" of lift with 235's (29"). I have room for more tire. I have the 3" pitman,longer shocks but no driveshaft spacers or longer brake lines. I checked the flex and the brake lines are fine as are the Driveshafts. If I put the spacers in the in(I have them), then I think on compression they would bind. I used the front bumpstops from the Calmini SR kit. My steering stabilizer was 20 something years old so I added a Rancho replacement. You will have to address the backspace issue on the rims as the stock rims with bigger tires will rub the leaf springs on full turns. You will need spacers or different rims with less backspace. Also You will have to trim or replace the stock front bumper as the tires will hit.

i added the Calmini shackle reverse kit, not 235's fit and I didnt have to do any thing with the front bumper, the 235 killed my top speed tho.

 ;D I wanted to get rid of that tinfoil front bumper anyway. It's basically a turn signal/license plate holder.
