Front spring replacement 97 tracker
« on: March 27, 2011, 02:45:34 PM »
I added a winch and bumper to the front of my 97 tracker and the  front end hits the bump stops easier than I think it should. I have a 2.5 lift. haven't lost any height at the wheel well. Does a  4 door use heavier springs that are about the same length and diameter ?  Thx. Or does anyone have any suggestions... that don't require robbing a bank!!

What kind of coils are you using now? You may have to upgrade to some heavier rate springs.
The usual stuff, and 2nd generation Air to liquid intercooled TURBOCHARGER

I have some front 3" Calmini coils that were cut to about 1 1/2- 2" of lift. They are stiffer than stock coils and were designed for the extra weight of a winch and bumper. I would let them go cheap if you want to try them.

Sounds like they might be fun. What would you have to have for them shipped to 82701?

The 4door coils are a little heavier rate. They gave me about 1-1.5" of lift. Kind of hard to see in this pic, but left side is 4 door coil, right is stock.
