As far as I know, the first gen, (I have an 89') have the D shaft and
a nylon pin, you break the pin and slip the shaft apart, only takes a
little bit, around 1 inch, but the shaft is hard to slip so you will have
to work at it.
The brake line on the drivers side front, you can bend the steel line
by using a big crescent wrench and rotate 90* down, that should
give you plenty of slack in the line, the passengers side might need
to just be popped off of the plastic holder, but the line has lots of
room on that side because it doesn't go through the inner fender
like the drivers side does
The back you might want to loosen the bracket that holds the E-brake
cables, but the service brake line is on the frame so no issues there.
I can't think of anything else that might be a problem
