prior knowledge?

hey im about to install my two inch body lift and am curious to know from other "consumers" and "fabricators" if there would be any problems or anyhitng of the sort. i went with a two inch for the simplicity reasons. fill me in on the do's and dont's please.

Pull the bolt out of the steering shaft at the box so it will slip, you may also
have to slide the steering shaft apart to get it to fit again, or splice in a longer
shaft, depends on the style your shaft is

thanks boss. the break lines and everything should be ok? other than the shifters right? its a first gen 8v do you know which shaft i have?

As far as I know, the first gen, (I have an 89') have the D shaft and
a nylon pin, you break the pin and slip the shaft apart, only takes a
little bit, around 1 inch, but the shaft is hard to slip so you will have
to work at it.

The brake line on the drivers side front, you can bend the steel line
by using a big crescent wrench and rotate 90* down, that should
give you plenty of slack in the line, the passengers side might need
to just be popped off of the plastic holder, but the line has lots of
room on that side because it doesn't go through the inner fender
like the drivers side does

The back you might want to loosen the bracket that holds the E-brake
cables, but the service brake line is on the frame so no issues there.

I can't think of anything else that might be a problem

also driverside brake line pull c-clip so it has free space and only do 1 side at a time gas tank filler hose clamp should be lose and extend your shifters 2"so everything looks stock not hacked if appearance matters thats just my 2c

 Watch out on the passenger side, up front inside the frame behind the strut tower for the brake prop valve hoses that drop from the body to the frame. Mine are TIGHT after a 3" b/l and I really need to get them to relax, as I am worried that they will fail if the body ever flexes even a 1/2" . I even have pulled the little retainer "horseshoes" off and they STILL won't budge. I am hoping that raising the prop valve will fix this.

hey guys, i finally had some time off to get shit done. the 2 inch lift was already on a few weeks ago as well as the 31s but yesterday i got the two inch body lift on. i think it looks really good with the fender trimming i did and bumper cropping (prior to the body lift). i would have pictures but my camera is broken from bouncing around and being smashed and my cell phone cant get a decent picture in the garage and its so shitty outside here in western PA right now. but anywho, i went to the machine shop down the road today and they are going to make a piece similiar to the jeep body corners that hide rust out of aluminum. they will wrap around the tail lights down to where the stock bumper mounts and come under the tailgate up around the other tail light, as one piece. (under my tailgate is all rotted out... theyre also going to be doing some rocksliders at the same time too. after that, eventually im hoping theyll do bumpers and a cage. i have to wait on the machine shop work atleast a week or so, theyre playing catchup right now. but thanks for the help in making my installation go smoothly fellas.
