My hood has two pretty good size holes cut in it to clear the strutt tower brace. works pretty good for venting heat from under the hood too ;D Haven't had any problems with water coming in. lol

The pics can speak for themselves..

I didn't completely cut out the braces for the hood, I just trimmed them down to size to ensure there is no restriction.

Functional and it gives a nice sporty look, me likes!

And now the million dollar question -  ;D - what were the underhood temps before the vents were installed?

All I know is mine got hot enough under the hood with my turbo running cherry red, to melt my distributor cap, distort my MC res, and reshape a few  other assorted  pieces of plastic. Now it don't. Nuff said. IMO, removing  ANY heat from the engine compartment will help ALL rubber and plastic pieces live longer. ;) Besides they look cool.

Without heat shielding the radiated heat from the turbo and exhaust
manifold can melt all kinds of stuff, I have a slightly melted master cylinder
res from radiated heat and I had the hood removed for the first few
months after the turbo install
