LJ motor swap?
« on: December 28, 2010, 09:56:36 PM »
I found myself a 79 LJ pickup with stock 850cc motor. I was wondering if anyone knew if it's reasonably feasible to swap in the EFI 1.6L from a sidekick/tracker.

any info would be great!!

thanks

It can be done but its not an easy swap like a 1.6 into a Sammy, you'll need the Sammy gearbox and you'll have to sort out props as the LJ has a different bolt pattern. The hole for the shifter will be in the wrong place and you may need a body lift or the trans tunnel cutting to get the 1.3 box in there.
