16v swap questions
« on: December 13, 2010, 12:37:05 PM »
ok a buddy of mine is rebuilding a 16v to swap into his 87 tintop and wanted me to ask if he can still use his flywheel and clutch or if he needs to upgrade to one for the 16v. Im new to all this too so some wording may be alittle confusing but he wants to know what he needs to do clutch wise and also if there is a performance cam for the 16v like isky or something like that.

Most people use the Sammy clutch, the Track/kick clutch isn't a straight fit but it can be done by redrilling the clutch cover. there is some info on this on the web but I forget who did it (it was a Dutch guy).

ok so the clutch and flywheel you save from the sami for the swap and reuse and just make sure the flywheel is resurfaced?
