Factory Samurai Locker??? Ive never seen this before.
« on: November 25, 2010, 12:18:43 PM »
Ive owned a few samurais in the past and used ez locker, lockrights and once had a LSD. I came across this thur a trade thinking it was a lock right after looking at it.

Apparently it has its own carrier to make it work.  It will not work in the regular carrier that we know of, but will fit in the DIFF.   I just wonder if I scored a really rare samurai factory locker? Prototype locker?  or This came from canada?  Its a 26 spline locker.

Any informations would be greatly appericated.....

Is there another picture angle that can give a different/better view?

If it is, are they reliable or..... I drove one with LSD in the past, wasnt much a difference from a locker.  Is there any instructions online on how to assemble the LSD if this is it.  I just want to see a diagram on how its put together.  I wheel hard, i do alot of jumping.  If this is weak, Ill trade it away for something else.

I don't know much about them, have never seen one.

One of your pics shows 4 holes in the end of the carrier,
so you might have a Limited Slip, look at the casting # in
the pic on the web, does yours have the same #?

From what I can see of the construction, I'd say it's a clutch type limited slip diff, so I think Wild is right on the button.

After doing some research, I cannot find anything that pin points this.  But  I think its pretty safe to say its definitely a LSD. But Calmini's? I dont know. It doesnt have the Calmini logo on it or anywhere else.

If any one of you are interested in this. Let me know. I dont need it.

Its a 26 spline. Fits the sami diff with no problems.  I was going to put this in the front of my sidekick.  But again, for those who knows sidekick/tracker it needs to have the carrier machined to accept the passenger side axle.  Which I already did mine.
