I Zook NY v2.0 - 2010 Invitationals
« on: September 20, 2010, 07:04:23 AM »
Who: Built-Zooks and RokFreekz Members
What: I Zook NY v2.0 2010 Invitationals
When: Oct. 9th & 10th, 2010 (Columbus Day Weekend)
Where: Fossil Rok Ranch (and possible ROK-PARK depending on park availability)
Why: 'Cuz there is nothing like Zookin' with company

Second year. Working to grow this event a bit from last year.

It's a Zook event, but RF members are STRONGLY ENGOURAGED to attend (and I hope they do!). Trying to keep it around 15-20 Zook rigs MAX as we may be limited on space (hence INVITATIONALS). This will be held at my place, which has a lot more new rocks and lines opened, but there is not much for mild-build rigs (less than 33's). This will be very much a crawl-orientated outing with a minimum of 33" tires, locked, geared and no respect for sheet metal. Please note spectators and pic takers are welcome. If you don't own a Zook, you could bring your R/C as they are scaled the same.

Depending on availability, Rok Park will be on this agenda, but this will be a VERY last minute thing depending on the Park Ranger's availability.  If the Park is open, I ask all Non-FR member rigs for a $20 donation to RF to help support the park and all. This is a very good cause, as maintaining a place to wheel legit is in the interest of the crawle community as a whole. In case you haven't heard of Rok Park, it is quickly becoming the preimer hard-core 4x4 location in upstate NY.  This private 4x4 park, the home of Rok Freekz, was recently included in this year 2010 Petersen's 4 Wheel Ultimate Adventure.  Yes, the wheeling there is on that level, so be prepared. To learn more about Rok Freekz, or to become a Freek yourself, visit www.rok-freekz.com.

Fossil Rok Ranch is located in the northern Catskills (Google 12076), and is my private place. Think Paragon's M & Q trail rocks set on several acres. Lots a fun, multiple lines and has a evolving history of breakage and roll-overs. Gate cones make for fun comp courses.

Camping is graciously provided by Yankee Shannon (my wife). She's very gracious, and has few rules. But please follow the rules as I don't want to hear the BS if ya don't. Breakfast will be served (fresh eggs and pancages with maple syrup from Fossil Rok Farm!), and grill is shared if needed. Planning on a pot-luck dinner for Saturday night, maybe some beer, campfire, and night wheeling.

Its free, private, primative camping (small RV okay, no hook-ups), complete with bon fire, night wheeling, a drive-in style movie of the days wheeling hi-lites (take vids to share!), bath and shower, garage for air, weld or other repairs. The good thing is you're never bemore than 5 mins to the shitter, tool chest, or the fridge from anywhere on the property.

Hope you can attend. If you're into this, post up who and how many. If you got other Zookers in mind, please invite them, but move quickly as there are only a few more openings. Hope this all works well. The MicroMachines take over New York!

BTW - and very warm THANKS to Park Ranger MuddyRover for extending himself again this year.

Any comments or questions, please let me know.

That sounds great - I can be there sat for sure.  Unfortunately, I have to travel on sunday for work, but I'll see if i can get out of it.  Any plans for camping Friday night also?
