stalling issue, slightly stumped
« on: September 03, 2010, 07:42:06 AM »
Ok so I have an 86 sami with a weber electric choke carb.  I put the carb on about a month ago and its been running great. last night I started her up to go to the store, put her in gear started to roll forward and STALL. I figured it was a freak accident, as my sami has 220,000 miles and is not in the best of shape.  So I started her up again and to my amazement she did no problem, however as soon as it started the rpm jumped to about 3500 for about 3 secs then just stalled again. I did this about 4 times with the same result, on the 5th time I gave it a generous amount of throttle to counter act the stall,  it postponed it for about 1 more sec and still stalled. I do have a "sensor" light on the dash, its been on for about a week.  However because its an 86 sami its not like i can read the code on it lol. also the plugs and wires are about 3 months old with about 6000 miles on them, the oil was just changed, i havent checked the fuel filter yet but it is first on my list.   Any advice would be greatly appreciated. And I apologize for the lengthy post but i wanted to make it as detailed as possible.
