Need Strut extenders for 2000 tracker
« on: August 16, 2010, 09:38:07 PM »
:-*  I am in need of some lift kit parts for my 2000 Tracker.  We had an older one several years ago and were able to get the Boondox parts easily.  I am not sure where he went but I see we cannot order from him.  HELP!!

I do not make strut shaft extenders but I do make strut mount spacers, much safer. I make them for all models and makes. I also make coil spacers that fit all models as well.
1997 4dr. Sidekick Sport 1.8L DOHC
2" coil spacers- I make and sell 1.5" and 2" on e-bay.  Look under seller: hoepkers
3" Masterkit1 body lift
Custom strut spacers

bits4vits out of UK sells strut extenders.  The dollar doesn't exchange well against the pound, and shipping will probably suck, but they sell them.

Not to sound like a total girl, but what makes the shaft longer on the struts if you just space down the body? ???

No you actually move the strut body down and then mount his spacer on top so the tower cross-brace still mounts up. (I believe I said that rig)t.  So instead of "moving" the actual strut piston down using an extender, you are moving the entire strut down.
'02 Chezuki Tracker with a 2 Liter and 5spd.  It works for me!!!

Close, you move the upper mount down, top of the shaft, so that it retains all the factory travel after a lift spring or coil spacer is put in. The lower mounts will already have dropped by adding the lift, thus overextending the strut unless you space it somehow. Shaft extenders work but I have seen a couple split down the side of the internal threads. Nothing to break on my spacers, my .02.  ???
