Tires
« on: July 14, 2010, 01:51:13 PM »
Hi I have a 82 sj410 5"spoa 6.5:1 tcase, I'm looking at some 33/12.50-15 boggers wondering if there the best for mud, and I also found some used 18/39.5-15 boggers wondering what kind of lift/mods I would need to run those tires and what they would look like on a sami, if any of you guys have tires that big could I please see some photos of ones with 39.5s and the 33/12.50s.Thanks.

I live in central Alberta so its mostly mud, anyone else from Alberta?

just got some 33x1250s in the process of gettin em on.  if you go up to 39s your lookin at some serious mods.  you'd need different axles (i have heard toyota makes a decent one to swap in) either a shi...alot more lift or a good bit of cutting.  you might not HAVE to extend the frame but others can back me up i imagine it would be a fairly dangerous deal not to.  the more streching and cutting you do the les you have to lift it and vs.  i grew up on mud and now in the rocks :( boggers are great in the mud but wear down on the road.  unless you have alot of time on your hands and can work fast id say get the 33s and work, by the time those wear down you might be ready for 39s-or atleast thats what i would do.

i dont have any pics of my 33s yet and only have the 29s mounted for pics but check out my build

Ya I was thinking I'd need dana 44s,yj springs, custom cv driveshafts, 12"lift, tube the front end and trim the back end.

Its for off road use only so I'll just get the boggers in the 33s.

Thanks.

I hope you have a bigger engine than the 970cc your sami came with, otherwise you'll have the biggest tires on the
slowest sami ever.

I think I'll stick with 33's till I get some more work done on it.

Its the stock motor, but I would upgrade it if I put 39's on it.

Thanks for all your help.
