okay, so i am too cheap to buy a bumper/ tire carrier and i see hundreds of vehicles at the junk yard with swing away tire carriers. my question is are there any vehicles that have tire carriers that will A) fit on a samurai and B) more importantly Work on a samurai? most the ones i see are mounted

You could probably make it work, as long as the dimensions are close enough to fit. Or if you have access to a welder you can make them work.

I've got two Jeep tire swingaways for sale on craigslist. From an early CJ. Best part is, they're the salt bolt pattern as a Suzuki. They bolt up to the body (kind of like the link you posted).
Also, ANYTHING will work if you're good at modifying and fabricating

I don't think that a bolt-to-the-body tire carrier will be strong enough - especially if you mount a larger tire.
I installed a fabbed extender to my wheel mount plate followed by a 30" BFG AT/KO on a Bronco wagon wheel.
The danged thing squeaks an moans at every little bump.
I'm afraid that metal fatigue will cause the door hinges to rip off the body so my next project will be a bumper-attached wheel carrier.
You might get it to work if you can spread the attachment load across a large area of the sheetmetal - assuming that there is no body rust...

You could probably get away with if if you put a brace on both the inside and outside of the vehicle to spread the weight out. But if you put it on the corner there isn't a good way to get into the back side without running bolts all the way through to the cab.
