8 inch rims whats a good offset to run?

topic says it all? looking for some 8 inch like old ford rims. But dont know what a good offset is. going on 31 swampers if that matters.

3.5 to 4 inches is good, but be aware of your road laws, and how strictly
they are enforced, the 4" Backspace will be out about 2" from the fenders
