Samurai 16v Wiring "Manual"
« on: March 04, 2010, 03:58:26 PM »
Don't spend much time here but thought you guys might be interested too.  My winter project was/is wire-by-wire instructions for a Samurai 16v harness.  The final draft is done and I'm looking for some feedback before I "publish" it on-line. If you have some spare time to devote to the project (before the end of this month) and are interested in being a "contributing editor" e-mail me at: zuki.joe|removethispart|@hotmail.com. Here's the TOC:

CONTENTS

Part 1: GENERAL INSTALLATION NOTES
Part 2: TERMINALS & CONNECTORS
Part 3: DONOR HARNESS REMOVAL
Part 4: DONOR HARNESS PREPARATION
Part 5: SAMURAI PREPARATION
Part 6: ENGINE HARNESS INSTALLATION
Part 7: ECM / FIREWALL HARNESS INTEGRATION
Pert 8: WIRING DIAGRAMS

All of it is cross-referenced to the relevant FSM

Thanks to all those who have offered to help. I've got 10 "advace" copies out and that's about all I can manage for the moment.

Stay tuned to your favorite Zuke sites the first eddition will be avaiable soon!

Be aware that early and late 16Vs have slightly different wiring. Later models are synchronous injection, early models are batch fired. Then there is OBD2 vs OBD1.

10-4!  Most of my current info is from the 95 FSM. So far as I know it only applies to the 92-95 16v's. Notation to that affect is included.  Any idea when they switched?  I'll pick up an FSM from the year prior (to add to my library) and check for variations.

Looks good.

I think it'd be cool to have someone here on the forum follow your diagrams and document a DIY swap.
