hey fellow zuksters lol im looking to swap my motor cuz im only runnin 3 cylinders in my 1.3 lol iv heard alot of buzz about putting the 1.6 8v or 16v and that sounds like a plan to me but im not to sure witch and what all ill need i know ill need a mount kit but whats the diff between the 16 and 8 when i call around what do i need to know about the motor to find one like what year make model. do i need the ecu. all that stuff lol sorry if this is all to vague to give me an answer i just need a place to start and you always helped before another question i have is i want to put a basic 3000 pound winch on my sami i have hella lights will i need a more powerful altinator to run the winch or will i be ok as long as i dont run them both at the same time

If you went with an 8V engine you could use the stock 1.3
intake and not worry about the ECU, a 16V engine would need the ECU
as well as an electric fuel pump and a return fuel line for the EFI system

but dont forget the wiring harness

I just went through all of that and it was simple.  First off if you want a simple install go with the 8v it is simple and you only sacrafice a few horses and the fuel injection.
You will need the following
8v motor
an adapter kit to marry the motor to your transmission 
an electric fuel pump
and should change you clutch and pressure plate also dont forget to put in new pilot and throw out bearings since you are there.
You can use your 1.3 intake and  and header to bolt back on.
You must exchange the flywheels and use the clutch cable mount from the 1.3 be sure to readjust your clutch cable and you should use the bigger radiator for the 1.6  It took me two days to complete the swap which included pulling the 1.3. 

I very pleased with my swap the power is a huge improvement and I also did a weber carb with a thorley header which increased my HP.

It's more than just the wires. For a 16v installation, you will also need the matching tach.  It's part of the circuitry and the ECU needs tach input.  Then you'll need to figure out a way to mount the tach in your Samurai.

ECU gets RPM from either the Crankshaft Position Sensor or the Camshaft Position Sensor depending on which 16V you have. Tach is usually driven from the noise suppressor and isn't required by the ECU,which particular year/model did your 16V set up come from?
