change 16" wheels to 15"?
« on: August 19, 2009, 05:31:32 PM »
Greetings Everyone.

I have a 2002 Vitara 2.0L with 16" steel wheels running 235/70R16s.  There's not as many tire choices for the 16" rims in that size range.  Can I put 15" wheels on my rig?

Thanks.

I'd trial fit the 15" rim your considering on the front of your truck first .  If you can snug it up and spin the wheel you should be good to go.  However, if your truck has the larger calipers 15" factory wheels (Tracker/Kick) won't clear the larger calipers.

If you get some 15" steel wheels from a Sidekick they will work. I have the "bullet-hole" variety on my 01 Vitara 2.0L and they fit, no problems.
