2.5 v6 timing belt replacement in
« on: June 11, 2009, 12:28:39 AM »
Does the timing belt/chain need replaced every 90k like most ohc engines I know of? My owners manual doesen't say or I missed it when I read it.  Also is the 2.5 a non interference engine? Thanks

The 2.5 V6 uses chains to drive the camshafts rather than belts. These don't need replacement at a particular interval like belts do as far as I know.

Don't know if they are an interference engine or not.

Although I'm not 100% certain, I would guess it's an interference engine - most 4V/cylinder engines are.
